A good, productive volunteer day on the hill today, 7 July. We started an hour earlier than usual to try to avoid the heat (that didn’t really work!) and spent a couple of hours clearing the invasive everlasting pea, and collecting several bags of rubbish, including a garage door and a duvet. We also found this:
A good day for wildlife too – a plethora of marbled white butterflies, and the usual sightings of speckled woods, meadow browns and commas. Also saw a hummingbird hawk moth on the top of the hill (no photo, they move too fast!)
Thanks to everyone who came, and especially to Jon for organising the day. Job well done!
