Spotted today…

This morning 10 – 12.30: 1 Raven (circling over Church Field) 3 Meadow Pipit (to SW over hill), 1 Pied Wagtail to SW over hill, Jay (cutting), Chiffchaff singing from trees behind seat, party of Long-tailed Tits (stony path) Grey Wag (brook).

1 Small Copper (other side of railway bridge), several Drone Flies (Eristalis tenax), 1 Dock Leaf Bug (other side of bridge), 1 Melanostoma scalare hoverfly (stony path), 1 Marmalade Hoverfly (stony path), 1 Myathropa florea hoverfly (stony path) 1 Spec Wood (stony path). Lots of Garden spiders everywhere.

Also found a fly (identified on ispot as probable Thecophora atra) that’s apparently quite rare. Be still my beating heart.
